Chapter 1 – Integers

Chapter 4 – Simple Equations
Simple Equations are simple statements with an equal symbol between two algebraic expressions that have equal value. Some essential topics discussed in this Chapter are transposing and applying simple equations to problems.
Chapter 5 – Lines and Angles
Students will learn about related angles like complementary, supplementary, adjacent, vertically opposite, etc. They will also learn about pairs of lines, intersecting lines, transversal and related topics.
Chapter 6 – Triangles
A triangle is a polygon with three vertices or three sides. In this chapter, students learn about a triangle’s median, altitude, exterior angle, and properties. They also learn about Pythagoras’s property of right angles triangles and are introduced to the congruency of triangles.
Chapter 7 – Comparing Quantities
You can compare two or more ratios by converting them into fractions. Here students will learn ratio-related topics like equivalent ratios, conversions of fractions and decimals to a percentage, and vice versa.
Chapter 8 – Rational Numbers
A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, where the denominator cannot be zero. Since the denominator can be 1, integers are considered rational numbers. In this chapter, students learn Positive and Negative Rational Numbers, plot Rational Numbers on a Number Line, the Standard Form of rational numbers, comparing Rational Numbers and operations that can be performed on Rational Numbers.
Chapter 9 – Perimeter and Area
Perimeter is the distance or boundary around a figure. At the same time, the area is the region or area occupied by a figure. In this chapter, students will learn different figures like squares, rectangles, and triangles, calculating the area and perimeter of all kind’s figures and the circumference of a circle.
Chapter 10 – Algebraic Expressions
A mathematical expression consisting of variables, numbers, and their operations is called an algebraic expression. The value of this expression changes according to the value of the variables. Students will learn new terms like monomials, binomials, trinomials, and polynomials. Also, they will learn to add and subtract two such expressions and find values of algebraic expressions.
Chapter 11 – Exponents and Powers
An exponent is the product of a rational number multiplied multiple times by itself. They are like abbreviations of large numbers. While Power is the number of times, a number was multiplied by itself. Students will learn multiplying and dividing powers with the same base and rules related to powers.
Chapter 12 – Practical Geometry, Symmetry and Visualising Solids
Topics covered in this chapter for symmetry will be a revision of the previous class. Also, new concepts of Practical Geometry, Symmetry, and Visualising Solid Shapes will be introduced.
